If you are planning to see a film at COLCOA, come a little bit earlier to participate in the panel, meet and exchange with other cinephiles, writers, directors, and enjoy a full evening of cinema.

When you purchase a ticket for one of the films on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, you are invited to attend a one-hour panel with special guests who will converse with the audience.

It will be followed by a complimentary wine and cheese reception, after which you will have priority access to the theatre.

Because of digital technologies and new strategies of film distribution, theatrical release is slowly becoming an option among others, particularly for cinema with a very targeted audience. Although video on demand (VOD) and DVD are good ways to expand the audience for foreign films, it could also endanger their existence in theaters. Will festivals become the only outlet for viewing foreign films on the big screen? Is this scenario too pessimistic? COLCOA brings together some of the key people in the industry, who are concerned with the issue of foreign film distribution today.
