For the first time, COL•COA will present a program of short films from students of La fémis in Paris.
Formerly known as IDHEC (Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques), La fémis (Fondation Européenne pour les Métiers de l’Image et du Son) is the main film school in France. Since 1986, La fémis has trained over 800 students in all filmmaking trades: directors, screenwriters, producers, editors, cameramen, sound engineers, decorators, script supervisors, distributors and exhibitors.
La fémis has come to be a reference in France and abroad. Among its alumni are Laurent Cantet, Costa Gavras, Claire Denis, Louis Malle, Arnaud Desplechin, Claude Miller, François Ozon, Alain Resnais, and many other acclaimed filmmakers.
